Training of operators of the State Institution "Government Contact Center", line 1547

On April 21, 2020, the 2nd Training School for hotline consultants on the prevention of gender-based violence started, with the support of
United Nations Population Fund in Ukraine - UNFPA Ukraine.

Training takes place online.

During 4 days of online training operators of line 1547:

• will continue to deepen their knowledge about the types and manifestations, causes and risk factors of gender-based violence;
• understand how gender stereotypes can lead to gender-based violence;
• will consider the issue of gender-based violence in the national legislation of Ukraine.

With the help of practical online exercises, operators of the 1547 line will be able to develop algorithms for counseling victims of gender-based violence, as well as possible stages of interaction and redirection of this category of subscribers, for full assistance and resolution of the situation. This is especially important and relevant in the conditions of quarantine, because against the background of quarantine restrictions due to the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic, the number of cases of domestic violence has increased around the world. Statistics of the National Hotline, whose work is provided by the NGO "La Strada-Ukraine", testify to the increase in the number of appeals regarding domestic violence.

Trainers will pay attention to the main challenges faced by operators of the 1547 line in the process of counseling victims of gender-based violence. These 4 days will be extremely informative and innovative.
