Educational and methodical training "Prevention and counteraction of manifestations of violence: activities of educational institutions"

The ability to distinguish and identify such concepts as: "violence", "cruel treatment", "bullying", "gender-based violence", "domestic violence" is very important for teachers and employees of educational institutions. After all, there are different mechanisms of response to different forms of violence.

Therefore, in order to increase the level of professional competence of teaching staff and employees of educational institutions in matters of preventing and countering violence and in order to provide assistance and support to the participants of the educational process, the educational and methodological training "Prevention and countermeasures against manifestations of violence: activities of educational institutions" began today.

"Such activities give us an understanding of the concepts of various forms of violence, which enables us to work with them further and react accordingly," notes Yulia, a training participant from the Luhansk region, "in addition, we have to work not only with children, but also with parents. Here we learn, and then we will pass on this knowledge to our colleagues in our educational institutions."

During two days, the training participants will work on the legal framework and mechanisms for responding and redirecting children affected by violence, ill-treatment, domestic violence and training knowledge on countering these phenomena.

"The important and invaluable role of teachers in the prevention of situations of violence, domestic violence, bullying, child abuse. An event of this format is a good opportunity to exchange the experience and practice of project participants. In addition, the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the Institute for the Modernization of the Content of Education for the implementation of systemic activities in this area is extremely important, as well as the support of initiatives and piloting from the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) for further inclusion in systemic activities," she said under at the time of the opening of the training, the vice-president of the NGO "La Strada-Ukraine" Kateryna Cherepaha

The training is conducted within the framework of the project "Creation of a mechanism to combat bullying and violence in educational institutions", which is carried out by the NGO "La Strada-Ukraine" and the United Nations Children's Fund "UNICEF" with the financial support of the European Union.
