Trainings "Features of providing assistance to victims of domestic and gender-based violence" for free secondary legal assistance centers

During 2019, the experts of the NGO "La Strada-Ukraine" conducted 13 trainings "Features of providing assistance to victims of domestic and gender-based violence" for free secondary legal aid centers. About 300 specialists from different regions of Ukraine were trained.


In accordance with the national legislation, since January 2018, the system of providing free secondary legal aid is an entity that carries out prevention and otherI hate domestic violence. Accordingly, specialists who work with victims of violence and protect their rights must be trained and qualified.

At the trainings conducted by the experts of the NGO "La Strada-Ukraine", specialists gained knowledge on distinguishing and identifying different types of violence, the scope of the phenomenon of domestic and gender-based violence, and reviewed national legislation in this area in detail. This information-rich training will contribute to the provision of even more qualitative and effective legal assistance to those who need it.

The trainings took place with the financial support of the Government of Great Britain in Ukraine as part of the program "A comprehensive approach to solving the problem of violence against women and girls in Ukraine, which is carried out by UNFPA, the United Nations Population Fund in cooperation with the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine.
