Improving the qualification of pedagogical personnel "Prevention and counteraction of manifestations of violence: activities of educational institutions"

A safe and violence-free environment in educational institutions = quality education and personal development!

We continue to work towards this goal. The NGO "La Strada-Ukraine" together with a team of experts, in partnership with the Government Commissioner for Gender Policy, developed the training program for the training courses for pedagogical staff "Prevention and countermeasures against manifestations of violence: activities of educational institutions". The program is approved by the Commission of Psychology and Pedagogy of the Scientific and Methodological Council on Education of the Ministry of Education and Culture of Ukraine.

Institutional capacity is an increase in the competencies of pedagogical workers.

December 16-18, 2019 in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and with the support of UNICEF Ukraine UNICEF Ukraine conducted a training for trainers "Prevention and countermeasures against manifestations of violence: activities of educational institutions" and trained certified specialists from post-graduate pedagogical education institutions from all over Ukraine.

What were the accents?

  • formed an understanding of types of violence;
  • formed skills for identifying victims of violence, gender-based violence, ill-treatment, domestic violence, bullying;
  • developed a mechanism for detection, response and redirection in situations of gender-based violence, ill-treatment, violence, domestic violence, bullying;

Expected changes?
Formation of an intolerant attitude towards violence and bullying.

The activity is carried out within the framework of the project "Creating a mechanism to combat bullying and violence in educational institutions", which is carried out by the NGO "La Strada-Ukraine" and the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) with the financial support of the European Union.
